Suncoast NPI Awards Semi-Annual Fundraiser to Local Non-profit, Ready for Life Pinellas
Entering adulthood is hard enough; imagine having to do it without a family or a place to call home. Unfortunately, that’s the reality for many foster care youth, who often age out of the system without the support they need to succeed. But there is hope.
SAFETY HARBOR, Jan 3, 2023 – Suncoast NPI is proud to announce its first 2023 semi-annual fundraiser will benefit Ready for Life Pinellas (RFL). Tampa Bay’s premier networking organization chose RFL because of its mission to provide former foster youth with the skills and resources they need to lead successful, independent lives.
According to the National Foster Youth Institute, nearly one in five young adults who age out of the foster care system will experience homelessness. This is a staggering statistic, considering these young people have already faced immense challenges in their lives. RFL has helped countless young adults in the foster system get their lives on track, and Suncoast NPI is excited to help them continue their important work.3
Give to Ready for Life Pinellas
RFL supports former foster care youth in homelessness prevention, education and employment, and lifeline support networks and is dedicated to helping these young adults successfully transition to adulthood.
According to Walag, many of the people they serve have “aged out” of the foster care system and are left to fend for themselves with no safety net. “These young adults are at high risk for homelessness, unemployment, and trafficking.”
“We believe every young person deserves a chance to thrive, and we are dedicated to providing the resources and support they need to make their dreams a reality.”
The Suncoast NPI fundraising award is given to non-profit organizations that best represent the ideals of community service, philanthropy, and selfless giving. The fundraiser will be hosted on Suncoast NPI’s website through March 31, 2023.
